New Grocery, New School, and Pool Are Involved In Construction Program Announced Here This Week

Road Construction Program Continues in Oak Ridge; New Pool May Be Open on June 30th.  An announcement was made this week of several construction jobs of interest to all residents and workers.
A new grocery, a new school, the swimming pool new dormitories, and continuing road improvement, are involved in the program.
The contracts have been awarded for a new school, to be located in West Oak Ridge, and for an anxiously-awaited grocery store, to be located in Jefferson Circle. It was announced this week by Lt. Col. John S. Hodgson, Executive Officer.

Construction work on the new completely modern swimming pool, located in Grove Center, may be underway by the time this issue is in the hands of its readers.

The pool, due to some delay in obtaining materials, may not be open June 1 as originally planned. Instead, it will open about June 15 or 20, Swep T. Davis, managing director for the Recreation and Welfare Association, said this week.
